About Us

Marvin Avenue Elementary and Marvin Language Magnet is a diverse community school located 9 miles west of the heart of Los Angeles, in a mixed commercial and residential area.
The Marvin Ave. Community is composed of our Marvin Ave Community school and our Marvin Ave. Language Magnet.  Our community is comprised of Transitional Kindergarten to Fifth grade students. Special Education services include 2 (two) Special Day classes (K-2 & 3-5), 1 (one) mild to moderate Autism class (K-3) and one Resource Specialists servicing both K-5 students. Our Marvin Ave Language Magnet teaches students a foreign language using a holistic approach to language acquisition.  Students are placed in language classes according to language ability: beginning, intermediate, and advanced.  In essence, students in grades 1st-5th are intertwined to learn speaking, reading, writing, listening, culture and history.  Students and parents may choose from one of four languages to study: Spanish, French, Mandarin and Korean.
